Honest anchors and framing on pricing
Help buyers judge value with true reference points: annual next to monthly, per-unit prices, a 'most popular' label that is actually the most popular, even competitors' prices where that builds trust. Present premium offers in a context that matches the quality delivered.
Plain label: honest reference pricesAlso known as: anchoring, framing, reference price, annual vs monthly, most popular label, per-unit price, price transparency
How it works
People fix on one prominent number and compare from it, and context changes how valuable something seems, even how much it is enjoyed. Honest anchors speed up a sound decision; false ones win a sale and lose the customer.
Evidence warning
Decoy effects weaken with realistic choices; test a decoy rather than assume it works.
A sale label can hide a worse per-unit price; show the per-unit math.
What the research says
Wine labeled with a higher price was rated more enjoyable, with more activity in pleasure-related brain regions.

What can go wrong

- A highlighted plan chosen for margin rather than fit.
Pairs well with
