Let what users just did schedule the next prompt
Turn each investment into a reason to return: a saved item gets a price-drop alert, a draft gets a reminder, a message invites a reply, a mutual match notifies both people. Let users set some prompts themselves, and shorten the time from the investment to the return.
Plain label: a loaded next triggerAlso known as: loaded trigger, hook cycle time, earned notifications, reply loop, mutual match, follow a thread, ephemerality
How it works
When users act in the product, they implicitly agree to hear about what follows from that act. Prompts grounded in their own investments are relevant by construction, and a shorter delay from investment to return means more cycles in less time.
Evidence warning
Expiring content or timers must be real; artificial urgency erodes trust.
What the research says
A dating app reported about 350M swipes and 3.5M matches a day in mid-2013, each match notifying both people (book account).

How to build it
- E-commerce
- Saved items generate back-in-stock or price-drop alerts that the user can switch off per item.
- Web
- 'You started a draft; remind you tomorrow?' with a time the user sets.
- Mobile
- One-tap reply from the notification, so each message invites the next.
- B2B
- Following a ticket or document sends updates only when it changes.
What can go wrong
- Treating any action as consent to market unrelated things.
- Batching that delays the prompt past the moment.
Pairs well with
- Add an investment step to every loop.
- Prompt at the moment of need.

RoundSnapchat: Snapstreaks and a state lawsuit
Utah sued Snap on June 30, 2025; the complaint names Snapstreaks among allegedly gambling-like features aimed at minors. These are allegations, not findings, and Snap disputes them. Snap reported 493M DAU in Q2 2026 (SEC filing).
