Drive-themed perks for veterans (OCT-M24)
Tag veteran actions with the drives they exercise, grow each member's profile in those directions, and unlock a perk in the spirit of a drive at a threshold: hosting sessions for creativity, moderating or mentoring for social, a bonus for ownership. Chou designed this for his own membership; it is a plan, not a tested result.

How it works
Veterans who feel they have done everything need new roles and powers, not more of the same. Perks matched to the motivation a member already shows reinforce that drive and give every kind of veteran (creators, helpers, collectors) a route forward. Chou adds a growth chart that shows the member's profile expanding, and lets several mastered drives combine into Chain Combos.
How to build it
- Web
- A community level unlocks moderation tools, a creator level unlocks hosting a session, and a collector level unlocks a coin bonus.
- B2B
- Customer champions who reach an expertise threshold get beta-council seats and can publish templates to the gallery.
- Mobile
- A skill radar on the profile that grows with use and unlocks a perk for each filled segment.
What can go wrong
- Display-only perks.
- Thresholds only the most obsessive users can reach.
- Rewarding maximizers while ignoring helpers.
